Woods-Forde v Bermuda Hospitals Board

Wakefield Quin Limited successfully represented the plaintiff, who had sued for wrongful dismissal in the Supreme Court.  The court held that the plaintiff had not acted dishonestly so as to amount to gross misconduct. The decision was upheld by the Court of Appeal, which substantially increased the sum of damages awarded.  The case set an important precedent in Bermuda that a plaintiff may recover damages stemming from loss of health insurance upon a wrongful dismissal.
