Katie Richards

Katie Richards is a Senior Counsel in the Litigation Department of Wakefield Quin Limited practising with a particular focus on all aspects of matrimonial and family proceedings.

Katie has over 8 years of experience specialising in divorce and children disputes.  Before arriving in Bermuda, Katie practicsed in the UK where she developed a strong and thriving practice and was routinely instructed to conduct serious and complex cases in the High Court, often against Queen’s Counsel. Katie has represented clients in all facets of divorce including appearing for high net worth individuals in complex property and financial settlement proceedings. Katie also has experience in acting for parents in difficult custody, care and control and access disputes.

Since joining Wakefield Quin Limited in 2009 Katie has continued to conduct similar work including representing clients in high value divorces and also acts for clients in all aspects of civil and commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Wakefield Quin Limited, Katie was a practicing Barrister in England and Wales, having obtained a law degree from Reading University and completed her Bar Vocation Course at Cardiff University. In 2001, Katie was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn, London. Katie then successfully completed her pupilage at 33 Park Place, Cardiff where she remained as a tenant for 5 years before accepting an invitation to join Temple Chambers in Cardiff.

Katie was called to the Bermuda Bar in February 2010.
